Revel to Close One Week Early

Revel has announced that it will close one week earlier than scheduled.  The resrt will close its hotel on September 1 at 11am.  The last night to stay at Revel will be August 31.  Only guests that already have reservations will be able to stay at Revel during its last few weeks of business.  All rooms show as sold out on Revel's website.  The casino floor will stay open until 5am on Tuesday, September 2.

Several restaurants will close earlier than the hotel and casino.  Revel has told the media that it will close Alcove, Relish, and Sky Cafe on Monday, August 18.

Revel is in its second bankruptcy after a $2.4 billion construction.  It has bounced near the bottom of the Atlantic City market in terms of gaming win ever since its launch.  Its luxury brand never caught on in the struggling Atlantic City gaming market.  No suitable buyer was found for Revel during the recent bankruptcy auction, forcing it to cease operations.

Revel is one of four casinos that will close in Atlantic City this year.  Atlantic Club closed in January.  Showboat is expected to close August 31, while Trump Plaza announced that it will close next month.

Revel is currently the only Atlantic City casino that does not have an interactive gaming partner.  It was notably absent from the process when licenses were being issued.  It was thought at the time that an interactive partner might hamper a sale to an interested iGaming company.  Unfortunately for Revel and its employees, no such sale ever surfaced.
