partypoker and borgatapoker recently announced that they will be launching a new tournament in April. The New Jersey Championship of Online Poker will run from April 19th to the 27th with approximately half a million dollars of guaranteed prizes available.

A spokesperson from Party Poker discussed the new tournament on the online gaming forum Two Plus Two on Friday. He stated that the event will begin with a $50,000 freeroll on the 19th, which will be followed by another event every night. Most of the events have guaranteed prizes worth between $15,000 and $20,000. However, Party Poker stated that there will be three freezeout events with higher prize pools. The final event will be launched on the 27th with a guarantee of $200,000.

The official stated that the details of the tournament may be subject to change. They requested feedback from active players on Two Plus Two and will try to incorporate their recommendations. A few respondents said that Party Poker should keep the $15,000 and $50,000 guarantee events, but made some other suggestions.

The community at Two Plus Two did praise Party Poker for reaching out for feedback. However, the overall consensus showed that the gaming provider will need to work hard to gain the approval of many of its customers. Many posters were a bit critical of the new offering.

One of their biggest complaints appeared to be that the prizes were too small for the freeroller events. The players said that Party Poker began operating in New Jersey about three months ago and should have started offering more exciting tournaments. They pointed out that the sites have already offered a $100,000 event and area running $50,000 events on a regular basis. They feel that Party Poker should start experimenting with events with higher guarantees.
